The Green Schools’ Committee (headed up by Mr. Fennelly) are busy once again this year as we make a bid for our 3rd Green Flag. We have been working on this for the past year and the theme we are working on is travel. We are learning about the consequences of air pollution from various types of vehicles and are discussing ways we can reduce our carbon footprint.
Alongside this, we are continuing our work of reducing waste in our school. We have surveyed all the classes regarding their use of single use plastic bottles for drinks and we are encouraging everyone to use reusable beakers instead.
As it was Climate Action Week last week, we also reinstated our “Question of the Week”. Every child has to answer a question on an environmental theme and at the end of the week, a winner is chosen from each class. As one of the prizes is a Homework Pass, each and everyone is eager to get their hands on the question at the beginning of each week!
Pictured here are the very first winners of this school year.
