Happy Chocolatey Christmas!

All 232 children were treated to a chocolatey selection box on the last day before the school holidays. Needless to say, we were made very welcome when we arrived with the boxes. The Parents Association would like to wish each and everyone a very happy Christmas. We look forward to many more events in the New Year.

Clay Decorations

3rd Class got busy with clay in the last few days. They rolled, squashed and transformed balls of clay into beautiful Christmas decorations that their parents  will surely treasure for many years to come.

Old Games are the best!

Recently, while learning about games in the past the boys and girls in 2nd Class interviewed their parents and grandparents about games they used to play when they were younger. We talked about the differences between games now and in the past.We had great fun playing hopscotch, marbles, Queenie-I-O and skipping. We also brought in our favourite toy. We had great fun!

Christmas Storytime

As part of their Literacy sessions, 5th class wrote Christmas stories and read them to their young buddies in 1st class. They were quite surprised when 1st class turned the tables on them and read the stories they had written to 5th class!

Busy times in Senior Infants

We have been very busy this term  in Senior Infants with activities ranging from learning about different shapes, making clocks, theatre visits and making Christmas crafts. To end the term on a sweet note, we made festive Rice Krispie buns to enjoy on our last day before the holidays!

Our Natural environment

First class got out and about exploring the natural environment around the school yard . They examined natural and man made materials in the yard. They ended their session by taking rubbings of different textures including , of course, everyone’s favourite tree!

A Trip to the Theatre.

Junior and Senior Infants visited the Dunamaise Arts Centre recently to see a production of “The Gingerbread Man” by the renowned puppeteer, Miriam Lambert. We enjoyed getting into the festive spirit and were lucky to meet Miriam at the end of the show.
