We would like to wish all Mums a very Happy Mother’s Day! At this time of year, the boys and girls would normally have spent some time in school crafting and creating something lovely for that special person in their lives – Mammy, Mummy, Mum, Mom……
This year, we hope that you will still be the recipients of homemade cards from your children and that they will sign and date them – when they are looked at in years to come, they will be very historical documents!
Finally, you might like to look at the story, “Five Minutes Peace” with your little ones in Infants while the older children carry out some random acts of kindness for you throughout the day!
We held our annual Table Quiz on March 11th this year. We had a packed hall with teams from our own school, Stradbally, Cosby, Timahoe and the Heath. All rounds were hotly contested and at the end of a very enjoyable night , the winners were announced and Ratheniska came in first, second and third place.
Thank you to all who helped organise this event.
In what will surely be put down as the most unusual St. Patrick’s Day of our lifetime, you might like to look at some of the images of our celebrations in school over the last few years.
Have a happy, safe and healthy St. Patrick’s Day!

The boys and girls from Rang 2 will be celebrating the Sacrament of Penance on Saturday next, 14th March in the Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska. Fr Ciprian will be the celebrant.

With this in mind, Junior Infants and Rang 5 got together to make some planes, trains and automobiles from plastic bottles. The Juniors were delighted with having their big buddies helping them create something which was previously destined for the bin!
This year’s Cumann na mBunscol Table Quiz was held in the Holy Family School . 37 teams from all around the county attended and our team from Rang 6 had a very successsful night as they contested a third place tie-breaker!
