Farewell to Mrs Kelly
RatheniskaOn the last day of our school year we got together to say farewell to Mrs Kelly who is looking forward to many happy and healthy years of retirement. We will miss her lovely smile and the kind words she had for all. Happy Retirement, Mrs Kelly!
Presentation to 6th Class
RatheniskaAs the 6th Class prepare to head off to secondary school, the Parents’ Council presented each one with a hoody with the names of all the Class of 2014 on the back. It will be a very fitting reminder of their friends and time in our school. We wish them all the best!
A Visit to Penhouse
RatheniskaAnna brought all the Juniors on a trip down the road to visit Penhouse Design where we were met and shown around by her Mam Leonie, Gillian, Gemma and Annette. Amidst the oohs and aahs, everyone agreed that Benny the dog was the favourite!
Hillwalking in Ratheniska
RatheniskaJuniors and Seniors took off for a walk up the hill today, Thursday 19th, June. We spotted buttercups, clover, ladybirds, butterflies and loved the experience of rustling through the long grass. We had a well deserved lunch after our trek before heading back to school.
Sports Day 2014
RatheniskaWe took ourselves to the G.A.A. pitch on a lovely sunny day for our annual Sports Day. We sprinted, panted, puffed , fell over and had a great day!
Beanstalks and Sunflowers
RatheniskaAfter reading Jack and the Beanstalk back in April, we decided to see if we could grow our very own beanstalks! We also planted some sunflower seeds. Two months later, our beanstalks are well on their way to reaching the sky and our best sunflower is almost as tall as Max.
Here we go…
RatheniskaRecently, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes went on their school tour to Kilcullen Sports Centre. Everyone had great fun participating in all of the various activities but the favourite, by far, was the thrilling Zorbie ball!
Water, Water Everywhere!
RatheniskaOn a rainy day in June, what better way to spend some time than playing with water inside! We selected several objects from the classroom and tested them to see whether they would float or sink. Of course, we had to predict what would happen before we tested them. We were surprised by some of the results.
A Trip to the Playground
RatheniskaOn Friday last Juniors, Seniors and First Class took a bus trip to Gort na nOg playground in Rathdowney. Great fun was had by all in the sand area, castle and basketball courts. We also timed ourselves on the obstacle course, relaxed on the snake swings and zipped down the zip wires. What a great day!
