Despite the unseasonal weather today Senior Infants went outside for their Easter Egg hunt. They had great fun practicing their reading skills looking for clues and they had to use their Orienteering skills to make their way around the school grounds!
First Class have been working on procedural writing this term. We decided to write about how to make giant chocolate buttons. We made a list of all the ingredients and wrote out all the steps in the recipe. Then of course, like all good chefs, we had to do a taste test!!! They were scrumptious!
As Easter approaches and the weather is on our side, we are taking our class work outside whenever possible. Senior Infants decided to get going on their Easter Art and enjoyed being in the fresh air while the Junior Bunnies practise their sight words outdoors daily!

As Rang 1 explore the theme of An t-Earrach, they took their learning out of the classroom and into the local environment to try out their skills at building nests! Great hands-on learning with very impressive results!
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday March 4th. Those of us who were in school had book scavenger hunts, we painted our favourite characters and some of us explored our feelings through stories. Those who continue with homelearning explored the World Book Day website with its many ideas and some re-created the covers of their favourite books.
Here is just a sample of what we did!
World Wildlife Day was on March 3rd and the boys and girls in 3rd Class, who are still working at home, took on the challenge to create their very own imaginary animals. Have a look at what they came up with!
