We celebrated the beginning of our school year with a Mass attended by all children from Juniors to 6th last week. Fr David was our celebrant and Rang 6 led the proceedings with readings and prayers.
A Visit from the Champions
RatheniskaWe were delighted to welcome some of the winning members of the Park Ratheniska Timahoe hurling squad to school today as they celebrated their first ever win in the Laois JHC “A” division. Having defeated “The Harps”, they brought the cup and spent lots of time answering questions from eager young hurlers and supporters in our school.
A night off homework was a fitting way for our school community to join in the celebrations!
3rd Class Bakers
RatheniskaIn Rang 3, we have been busy gathering local produce for our very first baking activity of the year. We decided that Apple and Berry Crumble was a good choice as we could source much of the ingredients from our own backyards! We worked in teams measuring the ingredients and following the recipe to produce mouth-watering dishes. We were so lucky to be able to sit out in the sun and enjoy our tasty treat! We happily wrote up our procedure when the last mouthful was gone!
Go dté tu slán.
RatheniskaIt was with deep sadness that we learned of the death of our dear friend, colleague and IT teacher Alan Ryan, who taught IT skills to the pupils from 3rd to 6th classes for the last number of years. His expertise, kindness, patience and friendship will be fondly remembered by all in our school community.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
