Senior Infants and First Class went to Togher Woods for a nature walk.

We collected autumnal leaves and made bark rubbings. We looked for mini-beasts and collected seeds.

It was a lovely morning walk – enjoyed by all!

Well done to the lads for getting into the Cumann na mBunsol Final. They will play Clonaslee in the final in O’Moore Park on Wednesday. We wish them the best of luck. Commiserations, but very well done to the girls got to the semi-final and were narrowly beaten by Ballyadams. Below is a picture of an enthusiastic 4th class who will be fighting for their places on the school teams next year!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Ghosts, ghosts everywhere!

Ratheniska

Senior Infants have been busy scaring everyone recently with their paper plate ghosts. Can you recognise anybody in the photo? We are looking forward to doing some more Halloween crafts before the mid-term break. The boys and girls are making final costume preparations for the school Halloween disco on Thursday. Ghosts, ghosts everywhere!

Mass Time.

Ratheniska

On Friday last, 11th October, we all went to the church where Fr Paddy celebrated Mass for us. We were busy in the run-up to it practising hymns while 6th Class led the prayers and readings. We are looking forward to our next mass which will be before Christmas.Mass_opt Oct Mass_opt

‘Blown away’ by Second Class’ Creativity!

Ratheniska

Second class had lots of fun creating these fantastic “Scream” portraits (and of course making a mess!) recently. We used a new technique called ‘blow painting’ to add hair to our portraits and, as you can see here, we had great results!

Keep calm and PLOUGH ON!

Ratheniska

As excitement built up in the area with the National Ploughing Championships approaching, second and fourth class went on an adventure to see the site. It was an enjoyable trip and we could hardly hide our excitement as we ran towards the sea of tents seen here in this picture.IMG_4467_opt
