Farewell to 6th Class
RatheniskaToday, we bade a fond farewell to the boys and girls from 6th Class. We wish them well as they set out on their journey into Secondary School.
1st class to Loughihoe Hill!
RatheniskaTo celebrate the summer holidays coming 1st class went on a lovely walk to Loughihoe Hill. We prepared for our trip by creating our own scavenger hunt of wild flowers and plants that we would find on our way. We also brought our teddies for our teddy bear picnic which we had at the top of the hill. As we had been learning about France in class we had a french themed picnic and tasted different types of croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes. On our way down we did some leaf and bark rubbing of the sycamore tree. We had a great time!
Fun in the Sun!
RatheniskaRecently 2nd class went for a summer nature walk in the local area. It was a gorgeous day. We really enjoyed the warm sunshine. We collected some buttercups, daisies and purple vetch. We saw some bees collecting nectar from the flowers. We saw some beautiful butterflies. We had a picnic and ate some cookies that Lily and Esmee brought in for their 9th birthday. They were delicious! We sang songs on the way back to school. We had great fun!
Summer Fun in Seniors
RatheniskaSummer is nearly here. We’ve been very busy soaking up the summer sun. We went on a nature walk and spotted lots of signs of summer. See can you find them in our photos! And all hard working Senior Infants deserve an ice cream to celebrate a great year’s work. Roll on the holidays!
Thanks so much!
Ratheniska6th class would like to say a big thank you for the class hoodies which we received this week as a marker of our time in this school. We love them and will treasure them.
Fun Words
RatheniskaJunior Infants have taken to the outdoors to revise all the words we learned to read during the year. We played Word Hopscotch, Musical Chair Words and Connect 4 Words. Much more fun than sitting inside!
Ole Ole Ole Ole!
RatheniskaLed by a fantastic captain,Paul Ruddy, our boys hurling team were successful in obtaining the title of champions- a well deserving title! You played great boys and I’m sure you have a fantastic sporting future ahead of you!
6th Class on Tour!
Ratheniska6th class ventured up to Dublin recently to enjoy their school tour. They traveled all around Dublin city, on land and on water, aboard a bus which also functioned as a boat! Afterwards we were lucky enough to take a tour all around Croke Park where we hope many of our school sportspeople will get a chance to play in someday. We saw all the behind the scenes spots which included a very prestigious players lounge, fancy changing rooms and we even sat where the media would sit to take accounts of all the GAA games along with much more! On the way home we enjoyed the obligatory school tour McDonald’s and we arrived home with full bellies and smiles on our faces!
Champions League!
RatheniskaChampions League time has come to Ratheniska once more as 4th,5th and 6th classes battle it out in the guise of such famous names as Real Madrid, Juventus, Man. Utd and many others. The teams are made up of all the boys and girls and the winners will be crowned champions before the Summer holidays.
