We had great fun today as we got together as a school community to celebrate World Book Day. This year we made a conscious decision that World Book Day should be about reading and enjoying books, not dressing up as book characters. So instead we read, we dramatised, we wrote, we illustrated and we discussed what we had read. We all agreed that we celebrated WBD in the very best way!
Confirmation 2020
RatheniskaThe boys and girls from 6th Class celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation on Leap Year Day. The Mass was celebrated by Monsignor John Byrne who was ably assisted by the other priests of the parish. We owe our gratitude to Mr Conway, Class Teacher, and Ms Dunne for assisting them in their preparation for their big day.
Ash Wednesday
RatheniskaWe were delighted to welcome Fr Ciprian today as he arrived to bless us and make the Sign of the Cross on our foreheads with ashes to celebrate Ash Wednesday 2020.
Thank you, Fr. Ciprian!
Lá na bPancóg 2020
RatheniskaPancake Tuesday was greeted by all with the usual excitement as many of the children played an active part in mixing, stirring, frying, tossing and, finally, eating quite a number of pancakes. The tale of “The Big Pancake” was eagerly listened to by Juniors as Rang 2 set about studying procedural writing before heading to the kitchen! Many other classes also took part in the traditional make. cook and eat!
