As Juniors are approaching the end of their very first term in Primary School, what better way to celebrate than to tuck into a plate of wobbly jelly! Of course it was also a fun way to reinforce our Jolly Phonics sound of this week which is J!

Last week saw the beginning of our Christmas preparations when 4th class went to The Pottery House in Ratheniska. Hosted by Kate Ramsbottom, each child had the opportunity to design a seasonal tile. This was a very relaxing experience and everyone had great fun even the 1 and a half kilometre walk around the roads proved to be really exciting.

Wouldn’t you just love to visit this beautiful bridge designed and constructed by Mae and Jade as part of our celebration of Science Week.

Ratheniska N.S. welcomed three new pets to our school last week. The arrival of the three turtles, named Yoda, Turbo and Squirt, has been met with much excitement and an eagerness to learn all about our new reptile friends! 2nd class are learning all about these turtles as well as learning the responsibilities that come along with taking care of a pet. The picture above shows Turbo sunbathing on the basking area in the tank.
